Marissa Cooper

So in light of baseball playoffs and the lack of OC until November, I decided that it would be good just to do a little biographical information of each character for the new few weeks. This week Marissa Cooper, better known outside of Orange County as Misha Barton.

Misha was born in London on January 24, 1986 and as early as 1995 was making her showtime debut. Misha is actually half English and half Irish. She moved to New York when she was still young and immediately was recognized. She was featured in several movies and TV Series including a voice on the kids show Kablam! and an appearance in All My Children, a popular soap opera. Her more famous movies included Notting Hill and The Sixth Sense. Before The OC she was in several smaller movies and some independent films. Once her debut in The OC, she hit box office and now has two movies coming out within the next year in which she had lead rolls.

Currently, she is a spokesperson for Neutrogena and attends The Professional Children's School in Manhattan, New York. She has aspirations to attend the Yale School of Drama in New Haven after high school. She has a pet cat named, Angelo.

I like your idea to do a little biographical information on some of the O.C. characters and Mischa Barton is a great one to start off with. I knew that she was from London originally and honestly had no idea she is so young. She looks like she could be my age or older, so it is hard to believe that she is really two years younger than me! I was unaware that she was on the soap All of My Children and had no idea she was in Notting Hill. I definitely remember her in The Sixth Sense though. It’s amazing how one role can really make you in Hollywood as it did for many of the O.C. cast members. To think that Mischa had all these small roles and no one knew much about her until she became Marissa Cooper just amazes me!

As much of a sports fan that I am, I am extremely disappointed that the OC will not be on until November. The biographical background information of the different characters is very interesting. Believe it or not I had no idea that Misha is two years younger than me. If any thing I always thought she was older. I knew that she made an appearance in the Sixth Sense as the girl under the kitchen table. I did not know that she in All My Children and Notting Hill, but most child stars start out on soap operas. Another surprising fact about Misha is that she is from London. I am very out of the loop when it comes to television stars. I am looking forward to seeing who you write about next week!

What's up with Misha and that guy she was dating, Brandon? What's his deal and are they still dating. I was reading in the tabloids, like US Weekly, that when they were seen out together, they were fight in public like crazy. Is she currently seeing anyone else? I like your idea about telling us about the actors and their real life stories. I can't wait for baseball to be over (my team is the Red Sox and they are WAY out of contention) and for the O.C. to be back on. I need my weekly dose of Marissa, Seth, Summer, and Ryan.

I am so glad you are doing character bios. I really find it interesting reading about how these stars came to be and their road to success. I have seen both Notting Hill and The Sixth Sense, and I totally did not know Misha was in them! I am going to have to take a closer look. It’s also funny that she goes to the Professional Children's School… it seems like that is the hot school for actresses. The thing about Misha that really gets me is that she is only 18. She looks like she is in her 20’s and talks like she is in her 30’s. She’s adorable and there’s absolutely nothing not to love about her.

I can't stand when networks all of a sudden decide to take these "breaks", of course when things are just getting started...I like the idea of doing some background info on the stars of the show - I always thought she was older than us, I guess not so much. It is funny though that she plays a highschool student when she's definitely older than that. I remember her from some of the older movies. She plays the role of Marissa really well - this is definitely going to be the "role of her life". I can't wait to hear about more of the stars...:)

Good call on the celebrity biography. I never really catch up on news, so I had no idea that Misha Barton was from London. And I can't believe that she was on stage by the time she was only nine years old. I was probably still picking my nose at nine.

I do not remember Misha in Notting Hill. Now that I know, I am going to have to watch it again to see her. I do remember The Sixth Sense though. She had such a creepy role as the dead girl under the sheet who was poisoned by her mother.

I love the idea of posting biographies while the playoffs are on. Very creative idea. I personally love Mischa Barton, I think she is absolutrly gorgeous and an excellent actress. I never knew she was is the movies Notting Hill and Sixth Sense. I guess you learn something new every day. I love that she does ads for Neutrogena, having a flawless face makes her a great spokeperson. So who will it be next week? I pesonally hope it is Summer, also known as Rachel Bilson outside of the OC. Til next week...

As everybody has said, great idea about posting the biographies of the OC characters! I love watching TV shows and following the characters, but I never had the urge to find out more about the people in real life. I always thought she was older than us, but I guess not. Maybe because she just looks old and is extremely tall. I had no idea she was in Notting Hill and The Sixth Sense. I feel like I need to watch them again! I can kindof remember her under the table, but I don't remember her in Notting Hill at all. Do you know when the show will be back on?
