Instead of going through the whole episode play by play, if you want the recap check out the recap. I want to focus this post on the upcoming news for the show and the big events in the actors lives. Big news in Peter Gallagher's life, he recently released his CD 7 days in Memphis which is available through Amazon for only $13.49. Here you can also get the various Music from The O.C. mix's. Amazon has all 5 cd's that can be purchased either seperate or together.

What is coming for the rest of the season?

Without ruining the rest of the season for anyone I just want to give you a glimpse of some things to look forward to...

Marissa struggles with ideas about her future - does she want to go to college or not? Summer has great expectations for herself which are of course shot down by none other than Taylor. Julie struggles with her alterior motives and can't decide whether to tell Kirsten about Charlotte's plan or not. Based on scenes for next week we see that someone gets hurt, rumors say that Johnny is the one that gets hit by a car and he struggles with his feelings for Marissa by pushing her away. Next month we experience my favorite time of year, Chrismukkah which I'm sure will leave us nothing but satisfied with the normal Cohen, Cooper chaotic season. Then later this season we meet Marissa's younger sister that has been at boarding school. We find that the sisters are nothing near close, and Ryan tries to play peace maker between the two. (That sounds like a role reversal to me!) There is also much drama to come as the competition for college acceptances heatens...I can't wait for the rest of the season it seems to be getting more intense by the episode. The one question that remains in my mind is Ryan's ties to Chino. I wonder if later this season we will see Theresa return to stir up the relationships finally back on track??

The Swells

WHAT AN EPISODE!!
This show just gets more intense. I'm going to try to sum this one up as best as possible, but there was so many different relationships tested it was amazing - well here it goes...

It starts will Marissa waking up from another nightmare about the shooting and she calls Ryan for support. Ryan, his usual uneasy self doesn't know what to say and tells her everything is fine and just to go back to bed, not exactly what Marissa wanted to hear. In the morning, Ryan gets ready for his first day back at Harbor, and Sandy and Kirsten are discussing prospective buyers for the Newport Group.

At school, Taylor discusses her newest scheme, a mandatory lock-in that weekend in the high school gym. The gang is in disbelief that she could be this desperate to make everyone's lives miserable. At Marissa's school, her friends approach her excited about the new "swells" coming in aka there are some decent waves coming in and this surf crew can't wait to party all night before surfing.

Julie goes over to her new condo to meet her roomate Charlotte who immediately throws in her newest scheme. A black tie benefit to raise money for under-priveledged women, and Charlotte knows just the person they are going to get to help them, Kirsten.

After school, Marissa goes to the beach to hang with her new friends and she starts talking to Johnny abou the nightmares. Johnny and Marissa end up goign for a walk and he tells her about his similiar experiences after some fights with his dad, the hug just in time for Johnny's girlfriend Casey to pull in the parking lot...how convenient.

The next day, Sandy meets with the prospective buyers and is willing to sell under one condition, they don't tear down the low-income housing Sandy fought for years to have built. The boss is hesitant but agrees, but Sandy does not feel settled. Later that day, he meets with the younger of the buyers and he supports Sandy's opinions that the boss will tear down anything he wants to make some money. This man, Matt convinces Sandy to hold onto the business and run it himself, Sandy just has to ask Kirsten how she feels and the deal is sealed.

Julie and Charlotte pitch their idea to Kirsten but she is extremely hesitant and at first does not want to help. A relectant Charlotte follows her inside and compells her to believe that she would be doing this to help Julie get back on her feet, and Kirsten eventually caves in. Later that night, Julie and Charlotte are at dinner and before the bill arrives Charlotte excuses herself to go to the bathroom. When the bill arrives, Julie grabs Charlotte's wallet to pay and finds several different identifications as well as credit cards, same picture but all various names. She realizes that Charlotte is actually a fraud. Julie approaches Charlotte with these findings, and Charlotte explains to Julie her plan to keep the money from the benefit then leave town, and suggests that Julie be her accompliss. Julie thinks about the idea, and her opportunity to get back on top.

Over at the beach party, Marissa introduces Summer to her new friends and they run into some enemies, Volchok, apparently Johnny's rival for sponsorship on the tour. Summer stands by and watches a blossoming connection between Marissa and Johnny and calls Ryan for support. Casey also takes note of the connection and her jealousy is evident. Ryan shows up and a surprised Marissa is confused and doesn't see the crush that Johnny has on her and plays it off as the two are just able to talk to each other. Her and Ryan get into a fight and she wanders back into the party. Later, Johnny convinces Marissa to call Ryan to find him and make up and when they head into one of the bedrooms the find Casey and Volchok making out. Johnny leaves immediately and Casey explains that is obvious to anyone to see that Johnny is falling in love with Marissa. Everyone is searching for Johnny and they find him confronting Volchok at the beach, before the can fights Ryan grabs Johnny and tells him to back off. Volchok makes a comment and Ryan punches him and they walk away.

Back at the lock-in, Seth is befriending Taylor after hearing her mother tear her down about her lack of popularity. Taylors attempts at making the lock-in a success are failing and Seth comes to her rescue with some not-so-fun games that he forces people to play and gets made fun of just as much as Taylor, but Seth can take it. There is an obvious new admiration for Seth. After all the drama at the beach, Marissa brings Summer to the lock-in and as she is pounding on the door, Taylor is on the other side pretending not to hear her, just so she can have a night with Seth to herself.

Perfect Storm

Finally its back!! After the long wait and horrible baseball playoff season (I'm a yankees fan), we finally have our show back. So what did everyone think of this weeks episode?? For those that missed it - following is your weekly recap.

Well we start to find that the break has let Kirsten take time to become a man's dream, in fact fox's summary called her a domestic goddess. She has prepared a gourmet breakfast for the Cohen house and insists everyone sit to eat much to their dismay. Sandy receives a phone call and after the boys leave we find out that there is a college fair at the Harbor School that evening and Sandy wants Ryan to attend, however Dean Hess as usual ruins it by attaching a letter to Ryan's transcripting documenting his violent nature. Obviously no reputable school in their right mind would accept Ryan with that sort of note.

At school, Summer is peering over Taylor who seems to be engaged in quite the flirty text messaging conversation, Summer tries to persuade Seth that its Dean Hess but Seth cannot be convinced. But as we all know, when Summer gets an idea in her head she goes strong to prove it. She follows Taylor around a bit and when Taylor accuses her of being obsessed, Summer drops a little story about how she saw the Dean kissing one of the teachers and watches Taylor squirm, now she knows its true. After school, Summer tries to convince Marissa that she should attend the college fair, however Marissa explains she isnt worried about her future, rather just wants to get her homework finished. At the college fair, Ryan is feeling very out of place but tries to brush it off and talk to some representatives. He is interrupted when he sees Sandy and the Dean in a heated discussion. Ryan walks over just in time to hear the news about the letter Hess had attached to his transcript, and leaves immediately.

Back at home, Kirsten is trying to help Julie and shows her brochures for some of the luxury condos in the area and Charlotte stops by. She takes a look at the brouchures and its obvious that she is thinking something devious.

The next morning, Seth wanders over to the pool house to find that Ryan has cancelled his tutor and is looking at new directions for his life, perhaps a full time job. Seth expresses his concern to Summer but she has a greater plan, still working on the Dean and Taylor affair. After Marissa explains the situation to Johnny, he takes it upon himself to help Ryan out. He seeks him out in the diner and explains that his uncle owns a commercial fishing boat and is always looking for help. Ryan jumps at the idea and later shows up for dinner with a guardian waiver for Sandy to sign in order for him to get the job. A reluctant Sandy signs the form, convinced that this is just a phase and Ryan with realize what is better for him.

The same day, Julie is touring the new oceanview condo when an unexpected guest arrives. Charlotte, she actually bought the condo before Julie even had a chance to respond. Later Charlotte shows up at Julie's not so luxurious motel room with the keys to the condo. She explains she bought it for Julie and just needs it for the short periods of time she is in town. A weary Julie takes the keys and thinks of them as a glimpse to her future on the bright side.

Over at Summer's, Seth walks in finally convinced to help Summer and they agree to text message Taylor to convince her to meet at the Mermaid motel, well she thinks she will meet Dean Hess.

Sandy and Kirsten offer to cook Ryan one last home meal before he ventures off to sea, hopefully convincing him one last time to stay. Marissa and Summer come over and the tension between Marissa and Ryan could have been cut with a knife. She obviously feels as though Ryan is walking out on her again and this time is putting up a fight.

The next morning, Ryan is about to get on the boat when Marissa shows up and says everything she feels. Ryan is acting just like her father did, running away, leaving on a boat, and it didnt get him anywhere, so that makes Ryan just a big a coward. (OUCH!)

Over at the motel, Taylor shows up just as scheduled,"the shark took the bait" as Seth says. Summer and Seth use this to their advantage and call Sandy right away. Sandy visits Dean Hess and explains the situation. Well a bit tainted version of the situation, but anyway explains he will go to the board unless Ryan is let back into school. At this point Dean has no choice and agrees.

Seth and Summer wander to the diner to find an upset Marissa, no idea that she had left Ryan about to board the boat. They are in shock that he walked out and all their work has been worthless, but then Ryan walks in and the gang enjoys time together again.

Adam Brody - is he like seth?

Born April 8, 1981 Adam was raised in San Diego, California. Adam spent a lot of his teen years like any other normal California tean, hanging out with his friends and surfing. After graduation, he convinced his parents to allow him to attend college in Los Angeles. Instead of going to college, he hired an acting coach, signed with a personal manager and quickly landed the role as Greg Brady in a TV movie, Growing Up Brady.

He also played TV roles in Gilmore Girls, Judging Amy, Family Law and Smallville. On the big screen, Adam was featured in the skateboarding movie, Grind. he also had minor parts in The Ring and Missing Brendan. After his success on the OC, he has started producing his own films and his career has taken off and he even was featured in Mr. & Mrs. Smith beside Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. He will star in the upcoming films, In the Land of Women, and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.

For those that are more interested in the drama and relationships: I found out after posting Rachel's biography that Adam and Rachel are in fact still dating. They have been seen together at several LA hot spots and seem extremely happy. Adam is not unlike his character Seth in too many ways. In fact, Adam loves X-Men and bands such as Ben Folds and Bright Eyes.

Rachel Bilson

Oh Summer Roberts. If I could sit here and describe her character on the show it would be easy, but to describe Rachel is almost the complete opposite. Although Rachel is driven and forward much like her character, she is no where near as snobby. Rachel actually enjoy's playing this role for that reason. "It's great playing someone who is not like me at all. I'm really a nice girl, so it's fun to be a bitch, then come home and be myself again. When I meet people now, they're surprised that I'm a good person." The only thing she actually may have in common with Summer is her passion for shoes, but in real life Rachel is not into ritzy stores, her favorite store to shop in is actually Target.

Rachelle Jade Bilson was born on November 13, 1981 in Los Angeles, CA. Although what she says, her family agrees that as the youngest, she was pretty much spoiled rotten growing up. Friends and family say that she was treated like a princess throughout her youth in LA. Rachel was introduced to acting at the age of 7, when her parents helped her land her first film role in "The Wrong Guys". After her debut, she held many minor roles in films and plays and she soon realized acting was her dream she needed to follow. Soon after graduating high school she found an agent to help her fill her dreams.

She was soon making her TV debut in several small roles on shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her true success was when she landed the role as a main character, Summer Roberts. Rachel's success in the show proves that she is a young hit that will keep preforming for us for years to come.

Benjamin McKenzie...the real Ryan Atwood

Benjamin McKenzie Schenkkan was born in Austin Texas on September 12, 1978. Growing up Benjamin played the role of an average kid in Austin, playing football in high school and attending the University of Virginia shortly after. He comes from a family of three boys, one of which graduated from Yale and the other currently attends Pomona College.

After graduating from UVA in 1991, Benjamin decided to follow a different dream and focus on his acting career. This change may have been provoked by the success of his paternal grandparents, both actors. His uncle is is Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, so its obvious that success runs in the family.

He moved to New York and had some minor roles in off-broadway productions. While in New York, Ben waited tables to get by and shared a cramped apartment with several roommates. In 2002 he had a slump in job opportunities and decided he would move to LA to try to make it big. It was here in LA that he got is break and auditioned for The OC. He has been a lead role since then and the show has given him the most success. In fact, Benjamin averages between $15,000 - $25,000 an episode. This may not seem like a lot compared to the million that FRIENDS show stars were averaging each episode but imagine yourself in that position. Benjamin isn't actually that much older than us and considering there are about 19 episodes per season, he has it pretty good. He recently bought an apartment in Santa Monica, CA can be seen driving around town in his new Infiniti G35...quite a change from his lifestyle in New York.

Marissa Cooper

So in light of baseball playoffs and the lack of OC until November, I decided that it would be good just to do a little biographical information of each character for the new few weeks. This week Marissa Cooper, better known outside of Orange County as Misha Barton.

Misha was born in London on January 24, 1986 and as early as 1995 was making her showtime debut. Misha is actually half English and half Irish. She moved to New York when she was still young and immediately was recognized. She was featured in several movies and TV Series including a voice on the kids show Kablam! and an appearance in All My Children, a popular soap opera. Her more famous movies included Notting Hill and The Sixth Sense. Before The OC she was in several smaller movies and some independent films. Once her debut in The OC, she hit box office and now has two movies coming out within the next year in which she had lead rolls.

Currently, she is a spokesperson for Neutrogena and attends The Professional Children's School in Manhattan, New York. She has aspirations to attend the Yale School of Drama in New Haven after high school. She has a pet cat named, Angelo.

"The Last Waltz" - but it seems like this is a first for many...

Another amazing episode last week but I was heartbroken to find that the MLB playoffs will take the shows spot for the next month...at this point I'm completely lost on what I will do every thursday night for my hour of devotion now - looks like those dvd's of season's one and two are going to come in handy after all. Anyway, here's a wrap up of last week's episode:

Marissa has her first day at the public school, Newport Union, of course she immediately runs into trouble, literally, running into tough girl, Heather. Marissa is just about to find herself in some serious trouble when another girl steps in, Casey whom slowly becomes Marissa's ticket to friendship at Newport Union. She then meets Casey's boyfriend Johnny and his friend Dennis. Dennis immediately reminded me of Seth, whether's its his goofy appereances, witty lines or maybe the fact that he wants to be called Chili?? Anyway, Marissa thinks that maybe this is her chance to get a clean slate and when they ask her to get lunch with them she calls Ryan and explains that she really needs to do this, and once again selfless Ryan watches her leave with her new crew, fighting his feelings the whole time.

Before leaving to pick up Marissa, Sandy and Ryan are discussing Ryan's new home-schooling plans when Ryan explains that he wants to actually go to Newport Union, perhaps to watch after Marissa. Sandy immediately shoots down this plan and tells Ryan that he needs to focus on himself and college, not just Marissa all the time.

Marissa comes home just after the foreclosure agent leaves Julie explaining that the house is being seized and she has 48 hours to leave. Julie tries to cover up and tells Marissa there was a mix up but Marissa catches her in her own games and agrees to move in with Summer for a few days at least until they can get back on their feet together.

Summer is busy back at Harbor preparing for the next school dance when the one and only Taylor approaches and asks how she could help. Summer is not only in shock, but startled when Taylor continues stating that she just wants to have friends at Harbor and is sorry that she can be such a pain in the butt. At this point it was pretty obvious to me that Taylor only had bad intentions, I'm just surprised that Summer actually fell for it all. But anyway, this scheme continues into the next day when somehow Taylor convinces Summer that she must fess up to helping Seth steal the tiki-hut or the Dean will suspend Seth altogether. Summer immediatly confesses to the Dean who responds that with this on her record, Summer could never proceed as Social Chair, but who would replace her...oh of course Taylor Townsend.

In the bussel of Marissa's new life, she blows off Ryan's breakfast date of the diner and we see him eating alone. Then later that day Marissa's friends try to convince her to attend the school dance with them, but she explains that she has plans with her boyfriend (finally remembering he exists) and can't go. On her way out of school, Heather reappears and makes a snide comment about the shooting, leaving Marissa humiliated and she runs away in tears. Johnny follows her and tries to cheer her up, but his flirtatious gestures leave Ryan unsettled and he runs to her rescue, just to embarrass her again. The next day he calls to apologize and asks her to the movies that night, she says that she is just going to try to have a relaxed night and catch up on some work, but she would call him later - is another disappointment brewing??

At the Cohen's, Kirsten receives a bushel of flowers from Charlotte, and calls to thank her. Charlotte begins to explain how the lake house is not the same without her and she misses her dearly. They agree to meet for lunch at the Harbor club, when Charlotte will be in Newport (coincidence??...i think not). When she hangs up we find that she is in a sleazy motel with her boyfriend as they discuss ways to swindle money from the Cohen family. Sandy explains to Kirsten that the Newport Group is failing and that the best decision may be to sell before it is too late. After alot of contemplating, Kirsten agrees that it is time to put her past behind her. At lunch with Charlotte, Charlotte wastes no time to explain her new business proposition: A place where women can go between rehab and returning home, something like the lake house for people in their position, and who better to fund the idea than Kirsten and the Newport Group! Charlotte is shocked to find that Kirsten was left no money and is actually going to close the Newport Group, and again tries to convince Kirsten that closing up shop won't free her of the past and her father.

As Julie is getting another visit from the foreclosure, this time with movers right behind him, at Summer's, Marissa's new friends show up to take her to the school dance. Without much hesitation, she agrees to go but just as they are getting in the car Seth and Ryan show up to surprise the girls. After some brief explanations, Marissa goes to her school dance and Summer and Seth hed to the harbor school dance, leaving Ryan home alone.

At Harbor, Taylor is taking all the credit for Summer's ideas and work and Seth decides to call Ryan to maybe convince him to go after Marissa? Ryan speeds over to Newport Union to find Marissa having a great time laughing with her new friends, Seth right behind him to stop him from anything he might have been thinking about doing. While Summer is looking for Seth around school, she catches Taylor and the dean in a makeout session in the stairwell. Probably the best blackmail Summer could find on these two!

Ryan goes back home, exhausted from the night and giving up the fight to find Marissa waiting for him in his room and they turn on the radio to dance together to their new song...

How Happy can everyone stay? I mean really...it's the OC

So i'm am greatly anticipating tonight's episode because even through all the drama last week, it all ended on a good note. I have to say I agree with one of Melanie's earlier comments that the writers seem to be packing as much into each episode as possible. It makes me wonder what else they have in store for us this season! They really had Stacey and I fooled yesterday during the commercial break after Jimmy gets beat up. I was sure he was dead and really don't know how he even lived through it all - that was horrible!

I have to wonder how Charlotte is going to come back because as I'm sure you all know...there are no skeletons in the closet in the OC...everyone knows everything about everything.

Is this the end of the drama for this couple?? I don't think so...you should all keep in the back of your head that Ryan still has ties in Chino...oh yea Theresa and evidently the baby she thinks belongs to Ryan...I don't doubt that just as Ryan and Marissa's romance gets heated Theresa come back into the picture shocking everyone

One last thing, I know Heather said she missed last week - well just so you all know if you ever miss an episode we tape them all at my house so just let me know and I'll get it to you as soon as possible - I wouldn't want anyone to miss out of this seasons drama!!

(Just a few more hours...Marissa's new school, and Julie Cooper, in a sleezy motel??...anyone have any ideas before the show starts??)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://theocobsession.blogspot.com/2005/09/how-happy-can-everyone-stay-i-mean.html' title='How Happy can everyone stay? Let alone the stress from that, he now also has Ryan at home and suggests that he spend some time away from Marissa. Ryan, completely appaled shrugs off this suggestion but little does he know that just around the corner, Julie has the same intentions for Marissa. She also explains that her great news of the day, Julie Cooper style, is that Marissa has been accepted into the same boarding school as her sister Caitlin. When Marissa refuses, Julie finds her good intentions to keep the family together charming yet agrees not to bother her, only if she stops seeing Ryan.

While Julie is coercing Marissa into deception, Jimmy goes to the Cohen's to apologize to Sandy for all of the events over the past few weeks...but obviously Julie has been rubbing off on him because he has selfish intentions as well. Jimmy is nervous about the timing of the reading of Caleb's will because if you remember he's in limbo with loans himself.

Back at Harbor, somewhere we haven't seen in awhile, the Dean finds Seth and Summer and encourages them to show some school spirit to keep them on the good side...perhaps stage hands? Little does he know what chaos Summer and Seth can actually create.

Jimmy meets Julie for dinner and insists that the wedding should be pushed up...to the end of the week - I dont know if anyone picked up on this but it also happens to be the day after the will is to be read. I think this is the farthest from coincidence and actually Jimmy is in this marriage not only because he loves Julie, but the possibility of a big break also. At dinner Julie also suggests not only a honeymoon in Hawaii, but a permanent residence and fresh start for the family. As soon as Julie gets home she tells Marissa and as much as she hates to leave Ryan, a chance to get her family finally together seems unatainable anywhere else.

When Ryan finds out he is completely beside himself, until Seth's insight makes him realize that he can try to convince Sandy to let Marissa move in with them. An ecstatic Ryan goes to tell Marissa but she is hesitant and insists that this could be a chance for her to start clean also. Ryan is heart broken but wants to spend the last time they have together the best way they can.

After much hesitation Kirsten returns home for the reading of the will. We find out that Caleb intented to split everything evenly between Julie and Kirsten, however one problem...all of his debt finally caught up with him and he is BROKE!!! At this point it left all my roomates wondering who was actually most in shock, Julie, Kirsten, or Jimmy who was relying on this money the most. Seth and Summer are meanwhile stealing the set from the school play and creating a real life paradise for Ryan and Marissa.

Later that night, Ryan takes Marissa to her paradise where Marissa insists she is "ready to do this" and I'll let everyone's imaginations wonder from there.

On the other side of town, on the way to the boat Jimmy is met by the man he loaned money from and taken away in a Suburban. We next see three men taking Jimmy to the water and continuously beating him up, the last we see of Jimmy before commerical is his body floating in the water...of course everyone thinks he is dead - but we are fooled once again.

Kirsten is missing since the reading of the will when all her father left her was a letter. She has her driver take her to the liquor store where she purchases a bottle of vodka and then goes to a sleezy motel and spends the night just staring at the bottle.

Marissa wakes up in Ryan's arms to a phone call from her father requesting her to immediately go to the boat. She goes and sees that he is beat up and he explains that once again he has gotten into trouble and needs to leave. Marissa understands and lets him go, with one request - that he never come back. Jimmy agrees and gives Marissa's the wedding ring intended for Julie. Marissa immediately goes to the church and gives the ring to her mom and finally they clinge to each other crying because Julie realizes she has nothing left but Marissa.

Seth and Summer return the stolen stage props to the school and just after Summer retreats to the car to get the rest, when the Dean walks in and threatens Seth with in school detention if he doesnt give up his accomplis. Seth refuses to and the Dean therefore gives him two weeks, but this is an action that proves to Summer that Seth really cares.

In the end, Kirsten returns home to big hugs from the whole family and they recap everything going on in Newport and witty Sandy responds "that's why I love this place, nothing ever happens" - i think that was the best quote of the night!

Let me know what you guys thought of everything and what might be in store for next week!!

"The Shape of things to Come"

Every thursday I am supposed to have work until 8 at night, however since OC has returned I started a routine of closing the sunglass store on main street a little earlier so that I can run to my house right down the street just in time to grab dinner, and a seat on the couch before the newest episode begins. This thursday was no different, I locked and close the door, cashed out, made sure everything was cleaned up and looked at the clock to see I was right on time, 7:55...closed the door and ran across the street to see my three roomates right behind me running from their class at vita nova, all of us striving to catch every minute...

We made it just in time to watch Sandy with another poor attempt to make the boys a substantial breakfast when the doorbell rings. Sandy goes to find Julie standing at their door, and he is in complete astonishment that she could show her face after her latest scheme. She immediately defends herself by explaining that the parents are trying to have Marissa and Ryan expelled from the Harbor School. Sandy and Julie immediately retreat to speak with Dr. Kim however she explains that the decision is already out of her hands and the school has called in the Dean of Discipline. The dean, Jack Hess enters and explains that he has already reviewed both files and will have a decision at the end of the day. Sandy pleads with him because he wants to see both kids go to college but the dean shrugs him off and restates his decision will be final by the end of the day.

Jimmy meanwhile is at a business meeting with a man whom he tried to sell his boat to. The man tells him that he changed his mind and wants his deposit back...only one problem...Jimmy blew all the deposit money on a risky stock and ensures the man that as soon as Caleb's will is read he will immediately be paid.

Back at school, Summer and Marissa go to the carnival planning committee meeting to see Taylor Townsend, the perky blonde who has always been a step behind Marissa taking charge of the meeting. After some words, Taylor steps down and Marissa continues the meeting.

After school at the Cohen's Seth tries to tell Ryan that it would be in his best interest to discuss the night of the shooting with Marissa before it comes between them, Ryan ensures Seth that it is best of they just try to put it behind them. Sandy gets a call from the Dean who tells him Ryan is in the clear but it is Marissa who will be expelled. Sandy tells the boys and decides he will go visit Kirsten.

Before Sandy arrives Kirsten's new friend Charlotte catches Kirsten in the middle of packing and insists that she goes to Charlotte's lake house for awhile before going home. When Sandy arrives he gets excited to see Kirsten has already packed her bags, but then she explains she will go with Charlotte to her lake house until she feels ready to go home.

Meanwhile back in Newport, Julie comes up with a new idea...make a donation to the Harbor school to get Marissa back into school, she approaches Jimmy to write a check...only one problem that we already know - Jimmy has blown all of his money. Jimmy turns around and meets again with the man from the beginning of the show, not to pay him back yet but to borrow another hundred grand. In the meantime, Ryan and Marissa meet with the new dean and Marissa basically digs her hole deeper when she exclaims that she is proud of what she did and would do it again if she had to. Marissa has basically no chance of being readmitted to the Harbor school.

Click here to get the rest of the intimate details.

This season started off with a bang...oh wait thats how last season ended...

Well the OC is back..and possibly better than ever. The episode opened right where we were left off with Trey being rushed to the hospital. The police are one step behind them, constantly interrogating the gang about the true events of that evening. Ryan awakes to find that this is a dream, but in reality Trey is still in a coma and actually the police and we find out that the District Attorney's office is on a lot of pressure to prosecute someone for the shooting. Even more shocking, is that they are looking to point the fingers at Ryan, not the real guilty one, Marissa.

The DA's continues to try to block Ryan into a corner and get him to admit that his intentions the night of the shooting were to actually kill his brother. The gang all continue to be questioned however no one is changing their story. Julie tells Jimmy she wants to convince Marissa to push the blame back on Ryan, and after some discussion, Jimmy realizes he is no match for his ex-wife.

Kirsten is still in the dark about the latest Newport events but is praised in her rehab group for her progress. The Dr. believes that she is well enough to return home. After the meeting, Kirsten befriends one of the other women in her therapy group and they share issues about their respective fathers. This new woman, Charlotte easily convinces Kirsten that she is not ready to go home, and she will just be tempted too much and Kirsten is easily persuaded.

Back in Newport, Trey comes out of his coma, just after Seth and Ryan leave his bedside. Back at home, the boys get a phone call telling them of Trey's progress. With Trey awake Julie thinks she has her chance to save Marissa and retreats to Trey's hospital room. She threatens to kill him if he doesn't tell the police that Ryan was the one that shot him. After his second meeting with death, Trey caves and tells the police that Ryan is at fault.

The gang finds out and retreat to Jimmy's boat to try to run before the cops can find Ryan, but they are too late. Ryan is immediately arrested, but Marissa and Summer aren't about to give up. The two of them go to the hospital dressed as candy stripers so that Marissa can talk to Trey. Trey immediately fesses that he was just trying to do the right thing and after talking to Julie he thought he did. Marissa realizes that yet again her mother has caused trauma in her life and she goes to the police with this information. Trey signs a confession that Marissa was the one that shot him because if she hadn't shot him he would have killed Ryan.

Sandy goes to the jail to pick up Ryan and they go to the hospital to find an empty bed. Ryan has one thought...the bus station. They show up just in time as Trey's bus is leaving and the brothers stare at each other for possibly one last time...

What an amazing season premiere - looks like this season is going to be great! Those of you dedicated fans, may have been watching the reruns all summer until season 2 was released August 23rd on DVD. If you haven't yet purchased this collection, I found the best prices at Amazon.com. There are also some great prices for season 1, or if you haven't purchased either there are great deals if you purchase them together. Good luck and stay tuned for future updates as the new season starts...here are some updates from last season...

The season finale began with Caleb's funeral, Jimmy returning to an ecstatic Marissa...and Julie, and a troubled Kirsten turning in her glass of wine for a glass of vodka, then going straight for the whole bottle. Hailey returns to lay her father to rest and meanwhile Sandy is checking out treatment centers for Kirsten. Trey finds himself in trouble yet again, with another drug deal gone bad and Ryan asks him to leave immediately. Ryan, Seth and Sandy discuss Kirsten's drinking problems and reluctantly agree that intervention is needed before anything more serious happens. Kirsten and Hailey return from their day at the spa to find a doctor waiting to talk to Kirsten. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Julie sail off to Catalina for the day...just the two of them. Marissa is home and Summer comes by to take her out to breakfast, first forcing Marissa to break down and explain the bruises and tension with Trey. Back at the Cohen's, Sandy leaves to take Kirsten to a treatment center. Word about what really happened between Trey and Marissa gets around to Ryan and he immediately takes off to find Trey. At the Coopers, Jimmy and Julie announce they are going to give the family another try, and just as the excitement heightens, Marissa gets a phone call regarding Ryan's search for Trey. Ryan finally hunts Trey down at his house and they begin to fight. Just as Trey is about to hit Ryan over the head with a phone, Marissa grabs a gun and shoots Trey in the back...

Welcome to the OC Obsession..

Welcome to the blog completely devoted to the OC. My name is Heather and I am a senior marketing and finance major. I can honestly admit that my love for the OC goes beyond the hour devotion every Thursday night. Between my 5 roomates and I we seem to tape every episode each season and watch it at least twice. Then again once the seasons are released on DVD we proceed to watch them over and over again. This is more than devotion...this is an obession for us. I encourage all of you that share our love for the show to comment on each episode or discuss what you think this season will bring.

In case you forgot, the season premiere is scheduled for September 8th at 8 (not 9 like previous years) so make sure to catch it, or at least set your VCR!
